The River Severn Estuary, break of dawn, milk chocolate waters, braided, interweaving, eccentric water-currents, navigating submarine sandbanks. Vortices, swells, vast tides, broad and epic, shifting tides and emerging mudflat lattices, and, at dawn and just before dusk with a veiling, wintery violet tinge.
Series of paintings based on observations from frequent early/late train journeys on sections adjacent to the river. on Fabriano Unica 250gsm paper, un-stretched, and so also sympathetically wavy. Could be framed 'floated' for maximum wavy, or, alternatively, window-mounted, for calmer waters. Each painting measures 500x350mm.
